One of the most important aspects of being a Kappa is philanthropy and giving back to the community! While each fall our philanthropy event benefits Reading is Fundamental, each spring our chapter has the opportunity to choose a new charitable cause for our spring philanthropy. All of the money we earn from our events always goes somewhere close to our hearts here at the Boulder KKG house.
In the past, our earnings have been donated to the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children's Hospital, National Alliance on Mental Health Illness, Cancer Awareness Foundation, Alzheimer's Association, The Samantha Remington Foundation and many more.
Kappa's also love to participate in other various philanthropies within the Boulder and Greek Communities such as the Denver Children's hospital, Best Buddies Program, Polar Bear Plunge and many more. Many Kappa's also take their efforts across the globe to help others in need!
Kappa Koncert 2018 Spring Philanthropy
This year we hosted Kappa Koncert, which included a variety of performances from artists The Lost Boys, King Kavalier, and Lawst. With the amazing efforts of our philanthropy chairman Allton Vogel-Denebeim, Boulder Media House, and everyone that came out to support us we are so proud to have raised over $10,000 for the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children's Hospital, an organization that is very close to our hearts.
Kappa Kookout 2017 Spring Philanthropy
Last year we chose to host an event at our house to support the National Alliance on Mental Health Illness. Our Philanthropy Chairman, Megan Clayton, did an amazing job this semester with our event. We had a huge turnout from the Greek Community, coming and enjoying everything the day had to offer! Our Chef Tony had an amazing BBQ, and we had tons of fun activities like our Frat Watermelon Eating Contest, Dunking and Caking Kappa's, live music, cotton candy, and so much more! We look forward to our next fun spring event and can't wait to see what this upcoming year will bring!
